Release News:: Sanctuary Records releasing boxset of The Wedding Present’s complete peel sessions

On March 26th, Sanctuary Records is slated to release a 6 cd boxset of The Wedding Present’s complete John Peel Sessions. The 6 cd set is divided between 3 discs of studio sessions and 3 from live performances for the greatest radio man ever. John Peel was a huge fan and champion of the band, having them in for 12 total sessions, the last in 2004 for the “Take Fountain” record. David Gedge was at the helm for all the remastering, compiling, and artwork. This is all reported on the Scopitones website.

I’m very excited about this one. While i’ve heard all these sessions before, I can’t wait to hear the remastering so I can revisit these great songs once again. Bizarro has always been my favorite record of theirs, but they are all up there. I’ve seen the band live a few times as well. Ironically, I had to miss them last year when they played a mile from my house at the Cat’s Cradle, because I had to attend a wedding. Rest assured, I would have rather seen The Wedding Present.
