Shootin’ The Tube:: The Beachwood Sparks & The Monkees

In our debut installment, P&S looks at a couple of interesting clips via the ever popular YouTube.com…here are two random clips we found pretty cool…

The Beachwood Sparks – “Sister Rose” (Live) – This video was filmed live At Emo’s in Austin, TX during 2000’s SXSW – it’s from their self-titled SubPop LP – Never had a chance to see them live but have been digging their post activities in The Tyde and Mystic Chords of Memory (which we had a chance to see live out at LA’s Troubadour with Camera Obscura in 2004) California pop the way it should be!

The Monkees – “Listen To The Band” (Live) The Pre-Fab Four have their “freak out” on Mike Nesmith’s track circa 1969’s “33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee” TV special – which would be the last Peter Tork involvement before the bands reunions of the 80’s – early 2000’s – see they can play instruments – groovy!

Check back next time for more clips – relax and we’ll find ’em for you…interesting stuff coming…promise!
