Tour Notes::Great Lakes Myth Society to play Brooklyn & Queens this weekend

GREAT LAKES MYTH SOCIETY
This Just In: Nic Harcourt Spins
HEY DAYS off of COMPASS ROSE BOUQUET
ON KCRW’S MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC!

WHO: Michigan-based “Northern Rock” collective the Great Lakes Myth Society take the road in support of their July 10th, 2007 release Compass Rose Bouquet.

WHAT:The Great Lakes Myth Society’s eponymous debut, an alternately brooding and nostalgic blend of muscular English folk-rock, pine-kissed Northern Americana and Midwest grit was released in April 2005 and within weeks the GLMS had broken into the CMJ Top 200 and appeared on both CNN and NPR’s All Things Considered. Their new sophomore record, Compass Rose Bouquet, a phrase described by James Monger as a “dangerously colorful metaphor for summer in the North”, views the region through a much broader lens than the one used to oversee the band’s previous offering. Please tune in to KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic to hear Nic Harcourt spin Hey Days! Heck, while you’re at it, request it!
