Tour News::Yacht – new video and tour

“Women of the World” is the YACHT song most commonly mistaken for a Jim O’Rourke cover, when in fact both YACHT’s version and O’Rourke’s are merely an Ivor Cutler poem set to music – O’Rourke’s take being orch-pop and YACHT’s being hyper grunge. The video by James Sumner (who also directed videos for Deerhunter and Dirty Projectors) is appropriately spastic.

On the tour front, YACHT is currently down under for a string of shows with Architecture in Helsinki and Panther. Upon his return, he’ll play the infamous McCarren Park Pool in Brooklyn and then launch a national tour opening for Dirty Projectors, followed by an appearance at the first annual Monolith festival at the legendary Red Rocks outside of Denver, CO. Later in Sept. he’ll head back downunder for an appearance at the Parklife Festival with headliner M.I.A.
