album::Cat Power:Jukebox

I’m not going to lie and say i’ve always been on the Cat Power train, but I have seen Chan Marshall over the years grow in a direction that I enjoy more and more. I also remember one time circa 1998, when Cat Power came to town and stayed at my friend’s house, and my buddy kindly gave up his bed to Chan Marshall. Sadly, he didn’t get the invite to share the covers, but she is back again to bring more magic with her latest record Jukebox. Jukebox is Marshall offering up 10 covers, and adding 2 new tunes of her own. Jukebox was recorded in New York, Dallas and Miami, 2007, with the Dirty Delta Blues Band and Stuart Sikes. The Dirty Delta Blues band are:Jim White on drums, Judah Bauer on guitar, Greg Foreman on keys, and Eric Papparozzi on bass. “Jukebox” comes out January 22nd 2008.
