EELS Announce American Tour Dates

On the heels of the just released the best of MEET THE EELS: ESSENTIAL EELS and the rarities USELESS TRINKETS, EELS announce a US tour starting March 28 in Philadelphia. The collections celebrate the first ten years of the critically acclaimed and ever-changing entity (1996-2006), while the tour finds them performing at some unusual venues as the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia and the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, DC, among them. EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett aka E was recently the subject of a highly acclaimed BBC documentary film about himself and his father and has also written a book, Things The Grandchildren Should Know, already a bestseller in England, it will be published this fall in the U.S. A recent EELS show at St. James Church in London found The Who’s Pete Townshend on stage reading from the book. EELS are planning to purchase one-second of Super Bowl television airtime to advertise the new rarities collections, USELESS TRINKETS.
