The Carpenters’ Now & Then house slated for destruction

Karen and Richard Carpenters’ former residence in Downey, California, featured on the cover of their magnificent Now & Then record, may soon see destruction. The Parra family currently own the house, and want to bulldoze it and build a new one, because they are tired of the attention from Carpenters’ fans. Many think the house should be turned into a landmark, and why not since all those hits will continue to permeate our hearts and minds forevermore. I found this article on Dlisted. Let us long for yesterday once more.
