Steve Smith:: This Town

With an acoustic backbone, a smooth unwinding, and silky harmonies, “Comedown Queen,” by Steve Smith of Dirty Vegas fame, shows a different side than the soiled heat of some of his other tunes like “That Town,” and “Hit Me Up”(all featured below). With the help of producer Anthony Saffery (Cornershop, Beck), Claudia Gonson (The Magnetic Fields), Terry Barber (New York Symphony Orchestra), and Rob Swift (The X-ecutioners), Steve Smith created his record This Town. Recorded at Camp Street Studios in Cambridge, MA., This Town is a fusion of folk, rock, electronica with Steve’s songwriting, and the album is being released on Smith’s own label, G.A.S. Records, named for his late father, George Albert Smith.
