The Saturday Knights:: Mingle

The Saturday Knights:: MingleEqual parts classic rock, grizzle guitar groove, and hip-hop, but not one bit the lameness of that gladly forgotten genre rap rock – - The Saturday Knights are a major player of the Seattle music scene, and now they are breaking out their debut album Mingle, a seamless integration of things so many others have managed to grossly mishandle. With talk of Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, and cognac by Rhyme-swappers Tilson and Barfly woven over a cavalcade of heavy rhythms by DJ Suspence, this one should definitely get you moving sooner rather than later. Assisting on the thirteen song debut are the likes of The Dap-Kings (Sharon Jones, Amy Winehouse’s backing band), Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil, a dash of The Muscle Shoals Horns, and Nirvana producer Jack Endino playing drums on “45.” Mingle comes out June 24th on Light in the Attic records.
