Hilary McRae:: Through These Walls

With a trip back to the sixties and seventies, Hilary McRae lays out twelve offerings of jazz/soul/pop constructions on her new album Through These Walls. On Through These Walls, the 21 year old pianist/vocalist talks of making sense of life, chasing dreams, finding resolution in the unresolved, and so much more. Ranging from sunnier pieces like “Better Off Alone,” to more rainy day-ish numbers like “Love Song for You,” Hilary stays serious and fairly upbeat, hitching hooks and melodies that might evoke thoughts of everyone from Carole King to Stevie Wonder. Hilary McRae’s Through These Walls comes out April 15th by way of Hear Music.
