Ohbijou make U.S. debut

Toronto septet Ohbijou are set to make their U.S. debut with two performances in New York City May 8th at the Knitting Factory and 9th at Union Hall. The orchestral pop group have been earning ever greater praise in Canada since the release of their debut full-length, Swift Feet For Troubling Times. The band, who play an array of instruments center around Casey Mecija’s tales, include sister Jennifer on violin/organ, Heather Kirby on bass/banjo, Ryan Carley on piano/keyboard, James Bunton on drums/trumpet, Anissa Hart on cello and Andrew Kinoshita on mandolin/guitar, have shared the stage with such artists as Joanna Newsome, Bright Eyes, The Walkmen, Sarah Harmer, The Dears, amongst other.
