The Explorers Club:: Freedom Wind

Despite their smooth looking wintry adornments on the cover of Freedom Wind, The Explorers Club make some of the best warm weather/beach music I’ve heard in forever. Truth is I don’t listen to music like this, but there is something about their delivery: those silky harmonies, classic referencing melodies, and most importantly the manner in which they’ve managed to recapture the essence of something that was at least lost on me. These sundrenched episodes seem tailor made for loading up the woodie and heading to the beach with your pals and favorite bronzed blonde. Relish in the barbed hooks coming complete with titles like “If You Go,” and “Hold Me Tight,” and “Last Kiss,” and leaving with the organ prominence of early seventies’ closer and title track, “Freedom Wind.” Hold on for a ride of many things concerning love: blissful rendezvous, lost lovers, bold proclamations of tenuous truths, and broken hearts.
