Padded Cell:: Night Must Fall

Richard Sen And Neil Higgins’ Padded Cell release their long anticipated album Night Must Fall today. These electro analogue scientists continue to pry the mind where there were no apparent folds, while adding to the depths of ghostly groove and splendor that we glimpsed last month with the “Savage Skulls” 12 inch. While the influences range far too wide to itemize, Night Must Fall is a cinematic journey filled with drama, trembling, ecstasy, withdrawal and more mystery than you’re likely to find anywhere on an album that makes you want to dance, then makes you want to love in the darkest manner. An ominous sign is breathing through the past-future funk of forthcoming single “Word Of Mouth,” featuring Chloe Battant from London band Battant (Kill The Dj); while resolution is fleeting, intensity will soon turn to a fever pitch with the percussive swell of the awakening of the formerly comatose on “My Children Sleep Next To The Echo Chamber.” This is excellence better left undescribed, for the ear and mind are the preferred vessel for this transmission from Padded Cell. Check out the sounds of Padded Cell on their Ecard below, and preview “Word of Mouth.”
