Happy Anarchy:: Reset

Starting out with a gala intro eventually fading into oblivion, Happy Anarchy set the stage for their album, Reset, which literally crosses a ton of borders, sometimes without stopping at all, and most importantly without sounding stupid. In terms of songwriting, the influences are far too wide for this empty head to count at the moment, but I will mention the Sgt. Peppersesque “Wake Up,” and the vamping “Bomp,” just bending from the temptation of ska-in-it out with those meandering melodies. The best thing about this album is that it is enjoyable to listen to; it is not boring; and it is not just pretty to look at while completely defying the sensibilities. Happy Anarchy is from Staten Island, NY, and the band list their influences as ranging from Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Beatles….
