Black Kids:: Partie Traumatic

Another Summer favorite comes by way of Partie Traumatic, the new album from Jacksonville’s Black Kids. So much to enjoy here with the metaphorical top down. As I’ve listened to this album many times at this point, Black Kids surely have something of their own to offer and you will want to dance. That aside, I can’t help recall eighties pop giants like ABC & even more so The Human League, considering how Partie Traumatic’s lines grab the attention through enlightened synth; not to mention the fabulous male/female vocal mingling. Speaking of singing, the male lead in some part, reminds me of Lloyd Cole circa Mainstream, only with a longer draw and more atmosphere. Lots of talk of exchanging provocative glances; not acting for fear of destroying mystique; and weekend nights alone. Great fun that has nothing to do with Gang of Four, Joy Division, Shoegaze, or Wire, and sure to grant a smile and a sway in perspective.
