The Weight:: Are Men

Brooklyn’s The Weight bring a fine work with their first full length in 5 years, Are Men, featuring ten southern down home rock numbers ready for the pickin’. The album opens with the sweet country flavor of “Like Me Better,” before things speed up on the Lynyrd Skynyrd boogie of “Had It Made.” These tunes sit somewhere between the open highway and the bar that chose to ban the crappy DJ, and instead feature music made with sweat and real instruments. With more than a plenty of catchy chorus, and music dressed up nicely with stirring guitar lead, fresh piano ravings, and the American music essential – – the pedal steel, you should already know whether this one suits your constitution.
