Civet:: Hell Hath No Fury

Civet’s Hell Hath No Fury is a hot cinder entanglement fueled by intense estrogen onslaught and laced with an old age punk spirit. Coming from Orange County, California, Civet bring off the rails guitar and often big catchy refrains and a track called “All I Want” co-written by Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong. Self-described as femme fatale punk rock on their site, the reference is well received. The barrage of aural attack commences with being wronged by a lover on “Alibis,” following on to standout “Son of a Bitch,” which opens with a surf riff, and talks of extreme mixed emotions. Things scream on the pounding “Pay Up,” before moving on to the anthem “All I Want.” Bass vibrations break into a mean guitar screech up the neck on “Take Me Away,” making way for an action packed sequence to the end.
