The Secret History:: Desolation Town EP

New York City’s The Secret History formed in 2007 by songwriter Michael Grace Jr., of My Favorite fame. Desolation Town is the debut EP from The Secret History featuring vocalist Lisa Ronson, daughter of Bowie guitarist Mick Ronson. The six songs flow with an eighties indie feel crossed with a sequined reflection that gets better as it goes. While the sing a-long of “Our Lady of Pompeii,” might be the catchiest number, its hard to resist the Bowie guitars opening up “Mark & John (Bring On The Glitter Kids),” and a continuing thread on closer “Our Lady Of Palermo.” Grace first met vocalist Lisa Ronson at an Irish speak-easy in the East Village called “The Scratcher.” She was living in Chinatown, bookkeeping for the Museum of Modern Art when she answered an ad in The Village Voice seeking a “Female Voice/Tragic Cult Figure.”
