Painted backdrops, photos, and Gooseberries

As part of the age of false compassion and mass hypnosis, I am forced to listen to music digitally more than I prefer. Not only has the “progress” of digital made music quite disposable, it has annihilated the art that once was part of the entirety. Either way that isn’t forward thinking, though there is a small bright light on the horizon. Gooseberries comprises one-of-a-kind portraits of several LA-area bands including Silversun Pickups, Rogue Wave, Great Northern, Earlimart, The Henry Clay People, The Happy Hollows, and more. LA-based photographer and artist Sterling Andrews has reinvigorated the process of opening a new record to reveal artist photos and liner notes with her new collection of fine art lithographs that pays respect to the creative process. The dozen bands were shot in Andrews’ home studio in self-created environments. This limited collection will be available in 12″ hand-painted gatefold, and also contains a DVD of time-lapse videos documenting Sterling’s painting process during the shoots and exclusive artist interviews, in addition to the 12 individual band portraits. Gooseberries will be released through Eenie Meenie on April 4th.
