Peter Doherty turns 30; Grace/Wastelands

Today marks the 30th birthday for one of Britain’s favorite twisted sons – Peter Doherty. While the supposed perfection of the often seen and heard new self-righteous artist fill the philosophical air with false compassion, the rock star as “trainwreck” is an old tried and true paradigm. Or, as Joni Mitchell once said, “If you get rid of all the disturbing things, like the demons, then you take away the angels too.” Doherty will release his first solo album, Grace/Wastelands on March 24th. Dot Allison co-wrote and sings on the track “Sheepskin Tearaway,” and Babyshambles back him up with the help of another famous Englishman – Graham Coxon.
