Medeski Martin & Wood:: Radiolarians II

The trio of Medeski Martin & Wood will release the second installment of The Radiolarian Series on April 14th, recorded last summer. The Radiolarian Series is named after a single-celled organism with an intricate exoskeleton is designed to excuse the cycle of write>record>tour. The trio consists of keyboardist John Medeski, drummer Billy Martin, and bassist Chris Wood, convened for writing retreats, performed only that new material on tour, recorded the material after getting off the road, and are now releasing these albums on their own Indirecto label. Radiolarians I was released on September 30th of last year, and the third installment will be released on August 4th. The three albums will be compiled into a limited-edition boxed set with extensive packaging and bonus audio and video content, in time for Christmas.

Medeski Martin & Wood are also hosting their Camp MMW again this summer. Applications are currently being accepted for the second annual Camp MMW, to take place August 4 – 9, 2009 at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY. All types of musicians are encouraged to apply. Camp MMW is an incredible opportunity for musicians of varying levels and ages, to live and study with MMW in the Catskill Mountains.
