Micachu & The Shapes:: Jewellery

Micachu & The Shapes release their album Jewellery, on April 7th, via Rough Trade Records (out already in UK). This is an awfully nice concoction of oddball and exotic sensibility completed by the production of Matthew Herbert. Jewellery succeeds with melodies that are clunky, erratic, spirited, and gone before you ever have a chance to get bored. With vocals fully considered, the songs are the aural equivalent to little machines with tiny moving parts in full view to make the entire package even more compelling. On Jewellery, one can expect songs and sounds ranging from submarinating claustrophobia with a classic individualistic British indie feel to other works containing atonal guitar splattering and further decor.
