Free Moral Agents make April left coast swing

Later this week, Free Moral Agents, helmed by Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, keyboardist for The Mars Volta & De Facto and frequent collaborator with the likes of El-P, Mastodon, Sublime, Saul Williams, and Z-Trip, is set to hit the road for a mini-US sojourn. Owens initially started the Long Beach, Calfornia-based Free Moral Agents as a solo project during breaks from The Mars Volta and has since expanded the band into a full six-member group featuring Mendee Ichikawa (vocals), Reid Kinnet (Rhodes), Jesse Carzello (guitar), Dennis Owens (bass), Ryan Reiff (drums) and Owens (keyboards).

Free Moral Agents will soon release the follow ups to 2004’s Everbody’s Favorite Weapon, with a new full length – Honey In The Carcass Of The Lion; an EP titled Control This; and a 10″ vinyl collaboration with Fela Kuti drummer and Afro Beat co-founder Tony Allen titled North Is Red. All the Free Moral Agents releases are due out via the Chicago-based Chocolate Industries.
