Trashed On Fiction:: Words Trails Maps

Earlier I mentioned Trashed On Fiction’s album Words Trails Maps, which deserves more notice considering its been hard to put this one down. The Brooklyn group have made fine representation of their music on this crisp recording. The record travels with little repetition, filling out with edge, hook, distortion, and occasional surprise on its thirteen tracks. Words Trails Maps tops out somewhere amidst the expansive “Killing Grounds,” the chugging ride of “Loretta,” and the smokey jazzed out mood of “beautification,” which arrives with pleasant surprise and never fails to bring to mind The Replacements’ Please To Meet Me, and the perfect sequence into and out of “Nightclub Jitters.”
