Reminding me a bit of the great Terry Callier, Jonathan Jeremiah releases his What’s A Guy To Do? EP, August 10th on Island Records. The Roots’ bandleader Questlove, James Brown’s legendary band The JBs and Bernard Butler were all drawn to a recording studio in Dollis Hill by Jonathan Jeremiah. Born to an Anglo-Indian father and a Tipperary born Irish-Catholic mother, Jonathan inherited his name from his mother’s brother, a priest, and a boy in love with the idea of the American dream, who died in a car crash in Jefferson City, USA at the age of 23.
