LA based trio Crash Kings debut album Custard was released over the summer. The group utilize a clavinet (a keyboard with guitar strings) outfitted through a distortion pedal to finish off their sound. On “Mountain Man” the group might remind one of Jane’s Addiction crossed with Ben Folds. Elsewhere, “1985″ fashions even more melody as it takes the form of a TV sitcom piano propelled power ballad. Ten tracks that as far as I know could already be submerged in your consciousness from the television. Nice work.
