Neon Indian’s Psychic Chasms, the new work from composer Alan Palomo, has provoked an Indian summer with its wonderfully retro-synth bleed of samples, field recordings, dance lines, and more. Psychic Chasms contains warm hits such as “Terminally Chill” and “Deadbeat Summer,” with the latter opening with the charm and moxy of “Kiss On My List.” The sound of sun scorched tape going in and out of phase never sounded so entertaining, but where do you go with this from here?
