The Avett Brothers:: I and Love and You

avettThe Avett Brothers, North Carolina’s finest front porch / rocking chair rambling band, released their album I and Love and You in late September. This Rick Rubin produced record is a well rounded outing of spirit, tale telling, and other songs for asking. Bluegrass haunts remain, though some equally earthy pop melody has clearly made its way into the world of The Avetts, with the result working well. While more a trip to church than a Brooklyn bus ride, I and Love and You shows that in the current age the distance between town and country is shorter than we envisioned.  We’re better off for it.
