King Biscuit Flower Hour returns with Roxy Music

East Village Radio, in partnership with Wolfgang’s Vault, has announced the return of one of the most recognized radio programs of the past 50 years: The King Biscuit Flower Hour. There will be three new King Biscuit Flower Hour shows on EVR this summer, all of which will be accessible on demand at after they are streamed on East Village Radio.

Debuting in the early 70’s and airing for over 20 years, The King Biscuit Flower hour aired concerts by a veritable who’s who of rock and roll including Talking Heads, Patti Smith, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, and scores of others. The King Biscuit franchise and collection was purchased, restored and archived by Wolfgang’s Vault in 2005.

Hosted by Jeff Conklin, the premiere episode of the new King Biscuit Flower Hour features a performance by Roxy Music recorded at City Hall in Newcastle, England on October 28th, 1974. Taking place in the midst of a massive tour in support of their fourth long-player Country Life, this Roxy Music show features choice cuts from that record and amazing readings of the band’s earlier work.

The King Biscuit Flower Hour will make it’s debut on East Village Radio on Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at 4pm ET.
