Mark Mallman’s new album Double Silhouette was released earlier in the month and has received several plays around these parts. The record opens with spacey foreboding on the title track though the magic is found in the fact that in doesn’t go that way at all. This all sets the stage for a rather nice round of songs marinated in slow smoked hook and often rock grooves. Expect talk of modern lovers, Hollywood, making love, car crashes, Morrissey, and other thoughts that occur in a life. I like it.
