In the past I’ve mentioned Australian unit Philadelphia Grand Jury – aka – The Philly Jays. Last year, I was fortunate to get the album, Hope Is For Hopers, from some fine folks representing them back in their native land. They’ve been going big back home and they deserve the rewards of making a record strong with super catchy melodies done up in Bolan, casimir garage, and future shag. Too Pure Records will be releasing a 7inch in May of “The Good News.” In the meantime take in “Going to the Casino.” Then it hits me no one’s in love with me.
After one accumulates a certain number of albums, say a hundred, maybe a thousand, it becomes obvious that certain works are more suitable at different times during the day. Vinca Minor’s ambient album, Isolation, is one such piece made ready to acclimate you to the day with breathing synths, hums, drones, and other emotives charged to slowly stir your flight. And as a side note, Vinca Minor’s Matt Menovcik wakes up every morning to Eno’s Music For Films.

Tasty video for “When I’m Gone” from Omaha, Nebraska’s Capgun Coup off their worthwhile album, Maudlin. On a side note, I think I’m gonna start using “tasty” more often, in addition to name dropping Amon Düül.
